Ripple and Robinhood have announced a strategic partnership spanning stablecoins, treasury management and institutional markets.
The partnership will expand access to Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin across Robinhood’s retail and institutional businesses, while Robinhood plans to integrate Ripple’s treasury software into its financial operations.
RLUSD is already available on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood, with plans to introduce it to the Robinhood app later this year.
Robinhood will also use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) for institutional settlement through Bitstamp by Robinhood.
The company plans to integrate Ripple Treasury to modernise and automate its global treasury operations.
The integration will cover cash and liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, payments, risk management and intercompany netting.
The partnership builds on an existing relationship between the companies through Ripple Prime.
Ripple Prime provides Bitstamp by Robinhood with lending and margin financing across roughly 20 digital assets, while Ripple Prime clients can access spot trading on Bitstamp.
Later this year, Ripple Prime will also support perpetual futures trading on Bitstamp.
“What makes our partnership with Robinhood so exciting is the breadth of what we’re building together,”
She added that the partnership reflects growing institutional demand for integrated solutions covering customer-facing services and core financial operations.
“Working with Ripple, Bitstamp and Robinhood will have access to RLUSD for institutional settlement, Ripple Treasury for our operations, and Ripple Prime for financing.”
