Pair of $400m rounds drive this week’s FinTech funding

More than $1.2bn was raised across FinTech funding rounds this week, compared with $858m across 21 deals last week, as companies continued to attract investment across artificial intelligence, payments, compliance, lending and digital financial services.

The biggest raises came from Island and Cyera, which each secured $400m, while Numeral and MCO also broke the $100m mark. The funding was spread across multiple markets, with deals spanning the US, UK, Germany, Romania, Spain, Egypt, Brazil and Indonesia.

Artificial intelligence was one of the strongest themes across this week’s deals, featuring prominently among the largest raises as companies target areas including agentic AI, AI infrastructure, data security and compliance. Payments and financial infrastructure also attracted sizeable rounds, alongside funding for lending, wealth and digital financial services.

The US accounted for 13 of the 22 deals, while Europe contributed six, with three deals from the UK and one each from Germany, Romania and Spain. Egypt, Brazil and Indonesia also featured, with funding spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia.

The dominant sector this week was financial infrastructure, bringing in five deals. RegTech and compliance followed with four, alongside enterprise software and CyberTech with four. PayTech and InsurTech each recorded two deals, followed by lending, digital financial services and WealthTech and alternative finance with one each.

The broad geographic spread comes as the global FinTech funding market becomes more dispersed. FinTech Global research found that seven countries were represented among the top 10 global FinTech deals in H1 2026, compared with a much stronger concentration in the US in H1 2025.
