OCBC Users Can Now Get Over 200 Travel Deals With Overseas QR Payments

OCBC has added travel rewards to its overseas QR payment service as more customers use the feature abroad.

The bank has introduced Alipay+ Travel Treat, offering more than 200 merchant deals across seven destinations.

These include mainland China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia and Thailand.

Customers can claim dining, shopping and travel vouchers through the OCBC app, with eligible discounts automatically applied when making QR payments at participating Alipay+ merchants.

The offers cover businesses such as Don Quijote, The Shilla Duty-Free and 7-Eleven, alongside shopping malls including Suria KLCC and TRX Mall in Kuala Lumpur.

OCBC claims to be the first Singapore bank to offer such rewards within its app.

During the first eight months of 2026, the number of customers making overseas Alipay+ QR payments through the OCBC app more than doubled compared with the same period last year.

Transaction values also more than doubled, with growth driven primarily by spending in mainland China, Japan and South Korea.

OCBC currently allows customers to make QR payments directly from their Singapore bank accounts at participating merchants in more than 55 destinations worldwide.

The Alipay+ platform could eventually support additional services within the banking app, including ride-hailing and food delivery.

Regina Lim, Head of Group Card Payments and Personal Loans, OCBC, said,

“By bringing Alipay+ Travel Treat into the OCBC app, we are making it easier for customers to discover and enjoy those benefits through an app they already use and trust, and offering them a more seamless and rewarding experience wherever they go.”
