OCBC placed third globally in The Asian Banker’s latest World’s 1,000 Strongest Banks ranking.
The result makes it the strongest bank in both Singapore and Asia Pacific, with only JPMorganChase and Saudi National Bank finishing ahead of it worldwide.
This is the first time a Singapore bank has finished in the global top three since The Asian Banker introduced the ranking in 2023.
The Asian Banker’s editorial team assessed the world’s 1,000 largest banks across seven dimensions: sovereign risk, scale, balance-sheet growth, risk profile, profitability, asset quality and liquidity.
In September 2026, OCBC came first among global banks, the tier covering lenders with more than US$500 billion in assets, in the inaugural World’s Top Performing Banks ranking compiled by Forbes and Statista.
OCBC’s share price has risen 46.8% year to date as of 23 October 2026, making it the top performer on the Straits Times Index this year, according to the bank.
“Being named one of the world’s strongest banks, soon after being recognised as the ‘top performing bank’, reflects the resilience of the OCBC franchise,”
