Hoxton Wealth, a London and Dubai-based international wealth management platform built around technology, has secured a $135m commitment from Aspirity Partners I, marking the end of its self-funded journey and the first outside capital to enter the business since 2018.
The strategic minority investment will fund a more aggressive yet measured growth push. Hoxton plans to widen its international footprint, hire senior wealth advisers and complete a number of targeted acquisitions. Alongside these moves, the firm will keep investing in the platform, internal processes and standard of service it delivers to clients.
Hoxton currently advises around 10,000 clients spread across ten jurisdictions and oversees more than $5bn in assets. Its model pairs human advisers with technology to serve clients whose financial affairs span multiple countries and who prefer to keep their advice under one roof.
Aspirity sizes this market at roughly $1.2 trillion in assets, noting that just 25% of it is currently advised and that it has long-term structural growth behind it.
For Aspirity, the deal fits within its Financial Technology & Services strategy. The investor had already flagged international wealth management as a priority area through its Proactive Thematic Origination programme, pointing to the rise in cross-border wealth and the growing complexity facing globally mobile clients.
The partnership grew out of a bilateral process that unfolded over close to twelve months. During that period, Aspirity worked directly with founder Chris Ball and his team to shape an arrangement tailored to Hoxton’s ambitions, drawing partly on input from several Aspirity Innovators and Leaders.
