Guidewire, a cloud platform provider for property and casualty (P&C) insurers, has introduced a platform-based approach to agentic insurance, designed to help carriers deploy AI agents throughout the insurance lifecycle with security and oversight built in.
The InsurTech firm’s new model combines applications, data, workflows and controls in a single foundation. It aims to help insurers progress beyond standalone AI trials towards governed agents that make underwriting and claims decisions quicker and more accurate.
Agents operate on the same platform as Guidewire’s core applications and draw on an insurer’s existing data and processes. Built-in controls define what each agent can access and do, applying uniform security and keeping an up-to-date audit trail as the platform is updated.
On the underwriting side, the offering includes Advanced Product Designer, which helps product managers take products to market within days, and PricingCenter, which lets actuaries turn complex pricing models into live rates rapidly. A Risk Accumulation App maps exposure by peril across individual submissions or entire books. UnderwritingCenter converts raw submissions into risk profiles and passes quotes directly into PolicyCenter. ProNavigator supplies submission summaries and suggested next steps.
For claims, Concierge allows claimants to report losses to autonomous agents by voice or chat, which then deliver ready-to-assess claims into ClaimCenter. ProNavigator also supports adjusters, while a Workers’ Compensation Solution links claims handling with digital and AI tools to speed injured workers’ recovery.
Technical teams gain an Agentic Framework for building or selecting agents, choosing models, setting guardrails and tracking costs. They also get Developer Assistants, DevSpace cloud environments, the Guidewire Data Platform, Data Studio and Explore, and Kaleidoscope.
