Genting Malaysia Berhad (GENM) has signed a MoU with Alibaba Cloud to explore AI and cloud applications across its operations.
The agreement builds on an earlier collaboration at Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park, where the two companies used AI and cloud technology to support the guest experience.
Under the agreement, the two companies will explore how Alibaba Cloud’s AI and cloud technologies could support employee productivity, operational efficiency and guest experiences across GENM’s businesses.
At Genting SkyWorlds, Alibaba Cloud deployed an AI-powered virtual queue system in 2022 that allows visitors to reserve rides through the theme park’s mobile app and check real-time waiting times.
GENM will assess potential use cases and their value before considering wider adoption.
“This MoU allows us to take a structured approach to identifying relevant use cases, testing their suitability and assessing their value before considering wider adoption,”
said Dato’ Indera Lim Keong Hui, Deputy Chief Executive and Executive Director of Genting Malaysia.
“Genting SkyWorlds demonstrated how AI and cloud technology can be applied to a practical operational challenge while enhancing the guest experience,”
said Choong Hon Keat, General Manager of Malaysia at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.
Choong added that Alibaba Cloud aims to assess further applications that could deliver measurable value for GENM’s employees and customers.
