Fission, a blockchain-powered FinTech firm developing liquidity infrastructure for tokenised investment funds, has secured $10m in a Series A round as it seeks to bring faster access to capital to digital private markets.
Pantera Capital led the investment, which also saw participation from Circle Ventures, New Form, gumi Cryptos Capital, Borderless Capital and Ari Rubenstein, CEO of GTS.
The raise brings Pantera Capital, Circle Ventures, Borderless Capital and Rubenstein into Fission’s shareholder base for the first time. They join a roster of existing supporters that includes New Form, gumi Cryptos Capital, Anthony Scaramucci, Manhattan Venture Partners, Reflexive Capital and Lattice Capital.
Fission plans to use the funding to grow its liquidity capacity, widen the range of tokenised private-market and semi-liquid funds it supports, and strengthen its integrations with institutions and the broader digital investment ecosystem.
The company argues that while tokenisation is shifting private-market funds onto digital rails, liquidity has lagged behind. Tokenisation has reshaped how fund interests are issued, distributed and settled. However, much of the surrounding market structure has stayed the same, and investors in tokenised funds still face periodic redemption windows, thin secondary markets and restrictive financing arrangements.
Fission aims to address this by letting eligible holders of supported tokenised fund products access capital without having to wait for conventional redemption cycles. Its coverage spans asset classes such as private credit, alternatives and other institutional investment products. Fission has already handled millions of dollars in redemptions, which it says reflects rising demand for more flexible liquidity.
