xStocks are tokenized representations of US-listed equities. By routing them through Enso’s existing execution layer, applications gain access alongside the same infrastructure already used for swaps, cross-chain routing and other DeFi actions across the networks Enso supports. Eligible users can also trade xStocks directly through the Enso RWA App within Arbitrum’s onchain ecosystem.
Connor Howe, co-founder and chief executive of Enso, identified what he sees as the core structural gap in real-world asset (RWA) markets. “Tokenization solved the supply side of real-world assets but what’s been missing is distribution, the liquidity, routing and execution to get those assets into the wallets and apps where people actually transact,” he said. “Bringing that to Arbitrum means any wallet, fintech or trading platform already built on Enso can offer tokenized equity access to one of Ethereum’s largest ecosystems without building anything new.”
The point is well-grounded in the current state of the market. Tokenized equity issuance has expanded materially over the past two years, but access has remained fragmented. Each new chain or venue has typically required application developers to build bespoke integrations, raising the cost and slowing adoption. Enso’s pitch is a single API that absorbs that complexity, a model it says is already powering ether.fi Cash’s tokenized stock and metals execution, an approved minting role for Ondo Finance, and the infrastructure behind Anchorage Digital’s Porto institutional terminal.
Peter Haymond , head of DeFi partnerships at Arbitrum, said real-world assets are one of the fastest-growing categories on the network and that execution infrastructure is what converts that growth into something developers can ship.
