Finsei, a London-based payments firm, has partnered with Thredd, an AI-first issuer processing platform, to power the processing infrastructure behind its new Mastercard debit card proposition.
Under the agreement, Thredd will manage payment processing and automate Finsei’s back-office operations. Its technology will also provide tokenisation, push provisioning, 3D Secure authentication and transaction fraud monitoring, helping Finsei deliver a secure and seamless card experience for business customers.
The partnership targets a common challenge for companies operating internationally: managing separate providers for accounts, payments, foreign exchange, cards and expense management. Finsei aims to bring these services together through a single platform, supported by Thredd’s payment infrastructure.
Customers will initially have access to physical and virtual debit cards, with Apple Pay and Google Pay support planned for a later stage.
Finsei provides businesses with multi-currency accounts, Visa and Mastercard cards, SEPA and SWIFT transfers, and recently added acquiring services. The company is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and holds ISO 27001 certification. It also states that client money is held with UK and EU banks covered by FSCS protection.
The agreement adds to Thredd’s presence across the UK and European FinTech and payments markets. The company serves more than 100 FinTech firms, digital banks and embedded finance providers in over 50 countries through a single API. Its platform supports debit and credit cards, digital wallets and ledger functionality, processing billions of transactions annually.
Thredd CEO Jim McCarthy said, “Businesses increasingly expect their financial tools to work together rather than operate as a collection of disconnected services.
