Finpilot, an AI-native operating system built for institutional capital, has secured $10m in a Series A round as it aims to free long-term investment teams from time-consuming data work.
Lobby Capital led the investment, and Madrona, an existing backer of the company, also took part.
The firm is targeting a group of investors that collectively oversee vast sums. Universities, public pension schemes, foundations, hospital systems and family offices all employ teams responsible for billions of dollars held over long horizons.
The returns on this money support medical research, healthcare provision and retirement savings. Despite this, staff at these organisations spend much of their working week on information gathering, such as reviewing reports delivered in PDF format, extracting figures by hand and matching data across disconnected systems.
Finpilot centralises an institution’s knowledge in a single platform and deploys AI agents to act on it. The system maintains one reliable record of every holding and document an organisation has, maps the relationships between them, and runs agents that process incoming reports, refresh figures, produce analysis and monitor changes.
Each figure links back to its original source, and the agents hand matters to human staff whenever judgement is required.
Current users include Seattle Children’s, Children’s Health of Dallas, Hackensack Meridian Health, TIFF, Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Wyoming Retirement System.
The company plans to put the new capital towards expanding its workforce to support institutional clients, as well as broadening the product so its agents can tackle a wider range of client challenges.
