Experian Health, the healthcare arm of global data and technology business Experian, has acquired eInsights, a healthcare technology firm that helps providers locate patient insurance coverage that was overlooked or unavailable at the point of care.
The deal broadens Experian Health’s insurance discovery capabilities beyond the early stages of the revenue cycle and gives providers a further chance to identify coverage once treatment has taken place. eInsights works with more than 200 healthcare organisations in the US and has helped its clients reclaim over $225m in reimbursements. It has also helped stop patients from receiving bills for treatment their insurance should have covered.
eInsights runs ongoing searches for coverage that may have slipped through earlier in the revenue cycle. It plugs gaps in insurance details and flags coverage that can result in reimbursement. Its post-service discovery offering includes retroactive Medicaid identification, detection of secondary coverage, coordination of benefits optimisation, prevention of past timely filing denials, and Disproportionate Share Hospital reporting. KLAS named the company a top 20 pick for Emerging Solutions in 2025.
Experian said eInsights’ technology complements its existing front-end insurance discovery tools. Combined, the two will form an end-to-end coverage identification platform designed to help providers reclaim reimbursement they might otherwise lose, cut uncompensated care and protect patients from unwarranted bills.
Experian Health president Jason Considine said, “Finding insurance coverage shouldn’t be a one-time event. A patient’s coverage can change or become discoverable after care is delivered, and when that happens, providers can miss reimbursement and patients can end up with bills they shouldn’t have received.
