Under the arrangement, Storfund advances the 80% share each day as orders are dispatched. When Debenhams Group makes its scheduled marketplace payment to a partner, the funds flow into a Storfund-nominated account, at which point Storfund releases the remaining 20% to the seller, net of applicable fees. Participation is optional, subject to Storfund eligibility criteria, and carries no subscription, set-up fee or minimum term. Eligible sellers can use the service across Debenhams, boohoo and PrettyLittleThing without additional administration.
Dan Finley, chief executive of Debenhams Group, said the move was designed to make Debenhams Group the preferred platform for brands seeking to scale: “Giving sellers faster access to their sales revenue gives them greater flexibility to reinvest in their businesses when they need it most, particularly as we head into peak Christmas trading.”
The launch is a structural extension of Debenhams Group’s broader pivot towards a marketplace model. Marketplace now accounts for 38.9% of the group’s gross merchandise value, up from 32.7% in the comparable period a year earlier, a shift that positions the group closer to a platform operator than a traditional retailer. Faster seller liquidity is a lever that platform operators use to attract and retain supply: when sellers can recycle working capital quickly, they hold deeper stock, respond faster to demand signals and are less likely to de-prioritise a platform in favour of a competitor with quicker settlement.
com . Justin Hanna , the company’s director of platform partnerships, framed the Debenhams integration as part of a broader market trajectory: “Marketplaces have spent the last decade building better shopping, advertising, fulfilment and settlement experiences.
