Contour Underwriting taps KYND for global cyber push

Contour Underwriting has chosen KYND, a provider of cyber risk analytics, to support the worldwide rollout of its new cyber insurance proposition.

KYND was picked after a competitive selection process. Under the agreement, KYND’s cyber risk intelligence will be built into Contour’s underwriting work from the very beginning. Contour’s newly formed cyber team will get a real-time picture of each organisation’s exposure when reviewing a submission, and will be able to keep monitoring how that risk shifts after a policy has been written.

The partnership is also designed to strengthen Contour’s work with brokers and the businesses they represent. Using KYND’s proprietary live risk intelligence, Contour will be able to evaluate individual companies, drawing on the platform’s speed and accurate data to shed light on new and complicated risks that extend past the underwriting stage.

KYND specialises in cyber risk analytics, giving insurers live intelligence on the cyber exposure of the organisations they cover.

Contour underwriting director, cyber Matt Waller said, “We have ambitious plans for our global cyber proposition and technology is a key component of our strategy. We are pleased to partner with KYND as our cyber risk analytics provider.”

KYND co-founder Melanie Hayes said, “SMEs present a significant opportunity for the cyber insurance market, but have traditionally been difficult to assess. To serve this market effectively, the industry must make cyber risk clearer and easier to address.

“What makes this partnership particularly exciting is the opportunity to work with Contour’s team from day one.
