CMCC Global Partners with Tether and Bitfinex Securities to Launch the First Tokenised Fund-of-Funds Under El Salvador’s Digital Asset Framework

CMCC Global, one of the world’s first asset managers focused solely on blockchain technology, announces the tokenisation of two of its flagship funds, Crest Fund (“Crest”) and the Liberty Bitcoin Accumulation Fund (“LBAF”), set to become the first-ever tokenised fund-of-funds offerings issued under El Salvador’s legal framework for digital assets.

The tokens are built using Hadron by Tether, the tokenisation platform developed by the issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin, USDT, and will be offered through Bitfinex Securities, a regulated platform for raising capital and trading tokenised securities.

The offerings come as tokenisation continues to expand across global capital markets. Stablecoins, tokenised government bonds and money-market funds alone have grown into the hundreds of billions of dollars in Assets under Management. Crest and LBAF represent the next phase of market evolution. Tokenizing investment products and issuing them on regulated tokenised securities platforms will transform how financial markets work and democratise access for millions who were previously excluded from these opportunities.

“Tokenisation represents the biggest transformation to financial services in a generation” said Martin Baumann, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of CMCC Global. “Every asset that can be tokenised will be tokenised. Stablecoins and Treasuries proved the model at a scale of hundreds of billions of dollars. Now it’s time for investment funds, and CMCC Global is leading the charge.”

Crest and LBAF were developed around two different objectives. Crest is USD-denominated and seeks to generate returns above US Treasury bill yields, while LBAF is designed for investors who measure returns in Bitcoin units and targets net annualised returns of 8–12 percent in Bitcoin terms.
