Casap Raises $56 Million as AI Agents Take on Fraud and Payment Disputes

AI agent platform for financial services Casap raised $56 million this week to help combat fraud and payment disputes. The Series B funding round was led by Base10 Partners, with strategic participation from Experian and Synchrony and additional support from existing investors including Emergence Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Today’s round, which comes just over a year after Casap raised $25 million in its Series A round, brings the California-based company’s total funding to $90 million. Casap will use the funding to advance its AI platform that combines AI agents, industry expertise, and forward-deployed teams to transform operations such as disputes and fraud to collections, claims, and more.

Casap was founded in 2023 by former Robinhood executive Shanthi Shanmugam and former Chime executive Saisi Peters to streamline complex financial services operations. The company’s platform uses specialized AI agents to investigate cases, make decisions, and take action across financial institutions’ existing systems. The agents follow institution-specific policies and procedures, maintain auditable records of their decisions, and escalate cases requiring human judgment. Since launching with a focus on fraud and payment disputes, Casap has expanded into other operational areas, including collections, claims, and complex exceptions. The company has also grown its revenue tenfold over the past year, more than double its original target. Casap took home Best of Show honors for its demo at FinovateFall 2025.

“We started with disputes because it was one of the hardest problems in financial services,” said Casap CEO and Co-founder Shanthi Shanmugam. “But our ambition was always bigger than disputes.
