Trading 212, one of the UK’s leading savings and investment platforms, has teamed up with Cardamon, a Y Combinator-backed RegTech firm, to automate regulatory compliance across its growing portfolio of products, markets and jurisdictions.
At the heart of the partnership is a set of AI agents built by Cardamon. These agents pinpoint regulatory changes relevant to Trading 212, evaluate how each change affects the business, and route the findings to the staff responsible for acting on them.
Rather than introducing a separate platform, Cardamon has been integrated into tools the Trading 212 team already relies on, including Slack and Jira.
The early results appear promising. A few weeks into the engagement, Trading 212 recorded a substantial cut in the hours devoted to some of its regulatory monitoring and mapping tasks.
The deal reflects a broader pressure facing financial services firms. Each new product launch or market entry adds fresh layers of regulatory obligation, and compliance functions are expected to scale accordingly. Legacy processes and systems, however, were often not built to absorb that pace of expansion.
Cardamon positions itself as a partner for ambitious, fast-scaling businesses that need to manage compliance across multiple products, markets and jurisdictions. Its technology is designed to slot into existing operations so that compliance teams avoid building new processes around yet another tool.
Trading 212 now sits alongside Nubank and a number of other Tier 1 enterprises on Cardamon’s client list, capping what the company described as a busy few months.
Trading 212 group regulatory and policy lead Alexandra Meres said, “Trading 212 has grown rapidly, both in scale and in the range of products and markets we serve.
