Canopy Brings the Autonomous Firm to Tax Season With General Availability of AI Tax Workflow Automation

Canopy, the all-in-one practice management software designed to help accountants build an autonomous firm, announced general availability of Tax Workflow Automation, an AI-powered suite that takes tax work from the first document request to the signed, paid return in one connected workflow. Tax season shouldn’t depend on how many hours your team can work. With this release, Canopy firms can automate the busywork from intake to delivery and still give every client a personal experience. This is what the autonomous firm looks like in practice.

Firms have historically had to choose between automation and personalization. They could send one standard organizer to every client at scale, or they could build each questionnaire and checklist by hand. With today’s release, a firm sets up intake once in a task template and applies it to hundreds of clients at a time. Canopy then generates a questionnaire and document checklist tailored to each client and sends it automatically when the workflow reaches the right step.

“Tax season shouldn’t depend on how many hours your team can work,” said Davis Bell, Canopy CEO. “With this release, Canopy firms can automate the busywork from intake to delivery and still give every client a personal experience.
