The banking operating system provider’s Delivery Factory lets a bank’s delivery team work with AI agents “from the first agreed requirement to working code,” Backbase said in a news release provided to PYMNTS Tuesday (Oct. 27).

According to the release, teams using Delivery Factory over the last 12 months delivered twice as fast as traditional teams and 30% quicker than teams using generic AI coding assistants.

“A generic coding assistant starts from the code in front of it,” Backbase added. “Delivery Factory starts from what the bank has agreed. Scoping documents, architecture specifications and meeting notes are combined with Backbase’s own product knowledge into one shared project context, and every person and every agent on the team works from it, through design, planning, implementation and review.”

The same implementations saw 80% less effort on requirements and specifications, a 40% reduction in coding and review effort, and a 60% uptick in test and automation coverage, according to the release.

Delivery Factory gives each role on a banking team an agent to work with, including business analysts, solution architects and mobile and web teams.

“Delivering banking software takes a whole team. Business analysts, solution architects, delivery leads and engineers need to stay aligned as a customer requirement becomes a working experience,” said Greg Fahy , chief technology officer for digital banking at Backbase.
