The deal is happening at a time when security “is becoming the defining challenge of enterprise AI,” Cohere said in announcing the proposed acquisition Thursday (Oct. 15).
“As organizations move AI from experimentation to production, security has become one of the most important factors determining successful adoption,” Cohere said in its announcement.
“Enterprises and governments are increasingly navigating complex requirements around data protection, governance, regulatory compliance, software vulnerabilities, and the risks associated with more autonomous AI systems.”
These organizations are also looking for AI partners that can offer the flexibility to operate in “private cloud, on-premises, and fully air-gapped” environments without sacrificing security or control, Cohere added.

Addressing these issues means an approach combining AI, cybersecurity, governance, and secure deployment, which is why Cohere moved to acquire AISLE, the announcement said.
Founded in 2025, AISLE’s AI systems can discover, validate and help remediate “previously unknown vulnerabilities in complex production software,” Cohere added, uncovering more than 500 of these vulnerabilities in its first year.
Cohere said the acquisition is designed to help it reach its goal of creating a platform that combines frontier AI models and agentic applications with advanced security capabilities.
