Zotye's right-hand-drive Wink Y01 rolls off line, with deliveries planned for early 2027

Zotye Auto (SZSE: 000980) said the right-hand-drive version of its Wink Y01 international model recently rolled off the production line, with mass production and deliveries planned for early 2027.

Zotye disclosed the milestone in a statement on Thursday, while warning that the model has yet to generate sales and that funding remains uncertain.

The roll-out marks progress in the overseas push by the Chinese automaker, which has undergone bankruptcy restructuring. Still, moving from roll-out to sales will require continued investment.

The Wink Y01 is a small battery electric vehicle developed specifically for overseas markets. The right-hand-drive version measures more than 3.9 meters in length. The company did not disclose pricing in its latest statement.

Zotye announced on September 9 that the Wink Y01 international model had entered batch trial production, without providing a clear timeline for mass production or deliveries. The latest statement sets a target of early 2027 for both.

The company said it had previously signed an agreement with an Indian partner for a KD (Knocked Down) assembly plant with an annual capacity of 30,000 vehicles, as well as a strategic cooperation agreement with Indonesia's BPKN.

KD is a trade term describing a production method in which manufacturers import components in kit form for local assembly.

Zotye plans to make South and Southeast Asia the core of its overseas business, focusing on markets including India and Indonesia. It aims to sign dealer agreements in 25 countries by the end of 2026, with a longer-term goal of reaching 55 countries worldwide.
