The 2027 Toyota RAV4 is bringing a few major updates, including an added NACS charge port on all plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models.
The RAV4 was Toyota’s best-selling nameplate in the US last year and consistently ranks among America’s most popular vehicles alongside the Ford F-Series and Chevrolet Silverado.
For the 2027 model year, Toyota added several notable upgrades. The 2027 Toyota RAV4 will be available with hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains, with available front- or all-wheel drive (AWD).
The biggest change is that all 2027 RAV4 PHEV models now have a built-in NACS charge port with Level 3 DC fast-charging capabilities.
The NACS port is on the driver’s side and lets drivers use Tesla Superchargers without a separate adapter. All PHEV grades also include an 11 kW onboard AC charger.
Powered by Toyota’s sixth-generation PHEV system, the plug-in RAV4 has standard AWD with a combined output of 321 horsepower. The setup includes a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, two electric motors, and a high-capacity traction battery.
The 2027 Toyota RAV4 PHEV offers up to 52 miles of pure electric range on the base SE trim. It will be available in four trims: SE, XSE, Woodland, and GR Sport.
Toyota updated the suspension system in the Woodland grade for the 2027 model year with new springs, shocks, and jounce bumpers, giving it 9.1″ of ground clearance.
The Woodland trim adds a rugged look with standard All-Terrain tires, Roof Rails with Cross Bars, and a Tow Hitch Receiver. It also features new all-weather floor and cargo mats.
