Montréal Metropolitan Airport now has 120 EV chargers online, with another 48 on the way as the airport expands.
The installation at Montréal Metropolitan Airport’s YHU Terminal uses Wallbox Pulsar Pro EV chargers to serve employees, visitors, and airport operations. The next batch will bring the total to 168 charging points once a building currently under construction is completed, according to Wallbox.
The airport, known as MET, is in Longueuil, Quebec, and offers more than 2,600 parking spaces across short-, mid-, and long-term lots.
Wallbox lists the Level 2 North American Pulsar Pro’s maximum output at 11.5 kW, although the announcement doesn’t specify the airport’s charging speeds.
There’s also a practical challenge in installing that many chargers: managing how much electricity they draw in total.
The airport’s installation uses Wallbox’s Power Sharing technology to divide available power among groups of chargers. That lets the site work within its electrical capacity rather than treating every plugged-in car as a separate demand for full power.
Foresta’s software handles centralized charger management and supports payment processing. Quebec electrical products agency edp électrique coordinated integration, with EG Électrique and Westburne also involved in the project.
Wallbox hasn’t announced charging prices or a completion date for the additional 48 chargers.
