The Ford Ranger is taking cues from the Bronco for 2027, with the pickup truck reportedly getting a larger V6 engine option for the new model year. Ford will replace the 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine with a detuned version of the Ranger Raptor’s 3.0-liter V6.
Autoevolution uncovered an alleged order guide for the 2027 Ranger, detailing several minor changes and revealing the truck’s new V6 engine option. The guide lists the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 as "Deleted" right below the "New/Changed" 3.0-liter EcoBoost option.
The order guide doesn’t reveal all the details, like price and power, but the changes should follow what Ford did with the 2027 Bronco.
The order guide doesn’t specify output, but the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 in the 2027 Ford Bronco produces 380 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. The engine should deliver near the same amount of power.
Ford will likely boost the Ranger Raptor engine's torque to match the detuned version. The 3.0-liter EcoBoost in the 2026 Ranger Raptor produces 405 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque, 10 less than the non-Raptor variant, and we doubt Ford will let that discrepancy stand.
The 2027 Ford Ranger XLT and Lariat receive new grille finishes, while FoMoCo will offer a variety of new wheel options across the lineup. Neptune Blue replaces Velocity Blue, while Carbonized Gray disappears from the palette.
Inside, Ford swaps the base Ranger XL's 10.1-inch infotainment screen for a larger 12.0-inch unit. The automaker also makes dual-zone climate control standard on the base trim.
