The 25 Bestselling Cars, Trucks, and SUVs of 2026

The RAV4’s struggles continue, while the Ford F-series continues to lead the way despite a notable dip.

With the third quarter complete, it's time to look over the sales figures from the first nine months of the year to determine which models are topping the charts. We've compiled a list of the 25 bestselling new cars in the United States so far in 2026, and while the top few positions remain steady, there are a few surprises further down the list.

One other quick note before we dive in: while we formerly used estimates from Automotive News for companies that don't report individual model sales, we have switched to using estimates from Cox Automotive starting in 2026. For other 2026 sales insights, check out our roundup of sales winners and losers.

The Traverse clings to the last spot on this list, following a fine third quarter where sales were essentially the same as in Q3 2025. Overall, the Traverse is having a solid year, up 16 percent.

The Maverick fell one spot despite a successful third quarter that was 20 percent better than last year. Overall, the Maverick has posted a mild 2 percent increase through the first nine months of the year.

The Elantra swapped places with the Maverick, with an excellent third quarter that was 18 percent better year-over-year. Through Q3, sales of the Elantra are up 11 percent, and Hyundai is gearing up to launch a next-generation model for 2027.

The Wrangler held steady at 22nd on this list, with Q3 sales increasing by 5 percent year-over-year.
