The 2027 Ford Mustang Mach-E is here, and it comes with a few meaningful updates over the outgoing model. The American automaker’s first electric crossover now comes standard with the extended-range battery pack, which means more driving range, even on the base models.
The 73-kilowatt-hour battery that used to be installed on the Select and Premium trims as standard has been removed from the lineup, leaving the 88-kilowatt-hour pack as the only option for these two trims. Meanwhile, the Mach-E GT and Rally get a 91-kilowatt-hour battery, just like before.
As a result, the driving range of the base Mustang Mach-E will also get a boost. The 2026 model with the small battery and rear-wheel drive had an estimated 260 miles of range, while the all-wheel drive version got 240 miles on a full charge. The extended-range battery increased these figures to 320 miles and 300 miles, respectively.
Ford also redesigned the front electric motor used on all-wheel-drive models. The secondary drive unit makes the same power as the outgoing model, but it’s cheaper to make, which makes the whole car a little bit more affordable, considering the switch to the larger-capacity battery.
The 2027 Mustang Mach-E Select RWD starts at $42,040 (including destination), which is $2,200 more than the outgoing model with the smaller-capacity battery.
Another big change is the addition of a new Trail trim. It comes with dual-motor all-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels, and Michelin CrossClimate2 tires, just like the Rally trim , which is still being offered.
