Tata Motors sees double-digit growth for CV industry in FY27, aims to outpace market
Tata Motors' MD and CEO Girish Wagh said the company had already outperformed industry growth in the first half of FY27 and intends to maintain the trend in the second half.
CV exports increased 177 per cent year-on-year in Q2 FY27, with Wagh attributing a large part of the increase to an order secured from Indonesia.
Tata Motors expects the Indian commercial vehicle (CV) industry to close FY27 with double-digit growth, although the pace is likely to moderate in the second half due to a high base, Girish Wagh , Managing Director and CEO, Tata Motors Ltd. , said during the company’s Q2 FY27 earnings call. “FY27 is likely to end with a double-digit growth for the overall industry,” Wagh said. He said the moderation expected in the second half should not be viewed as a slowdown in demand. The industry had grown 21 per cent in the third quarter and almost 20 per cent in the fourth quarter of the previous year following the GST transition, creating a higher base for comparison. Advt
“While the growth momentum as of now is likely to continue in Q3, the growth rate will certainly moderate from a base effect perspective. So not a demand slowdown, but the growth rate will go down,” Wagh said. Tata Motors also expects to grow ahead of the industry. The company said it had already outperformed industry growth in the first half of FY27 and intends to maintain the trend in the second half.
