Nio expands Firefly business in Thailand with standalone store and updated EV

Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) sub-brand Firefly has opened a standalone store in Bangkok and launched an upgraded right-hand-drive model, expanding its presence in Thailand.

Firefly announced on Weibo on Monday that its standalone flagship showroom had officially opened on the fifth floor of Bangkok's centralwOrld shopping mall, covering more than 350 square meters.

The brand said this is its first standalone store worldwide to operate on a long-term basis with the full Firefly brand identity, showcasing its vehicles, design philosophy, lifestyle offerings and user experience.

The upgraded right-hand-drive Firefly EV has been launched in Thailand. Firefly said the model offers enhanced smart features, but did not disclose specific changes or pricing in the announcement.

The new store also displays a vehicle co-created with Thai illustrator Tent Katchakul, incorporating local art into the brand's presence in the country.

The store opening and model update come about 7 months after Firefly first launched its vehicle in Thailand, marking a shift from market entry toward a long-term retail presence.

Firefly introduced its brand in Bangkok on March 5, then launched the right-hand-drive Firefly EV at the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show on March 24, priced at 799,000 baht ($23,800) at the time.

Thailand was Firefly's second right-hand-drive market after Singapore. The brand works with Thonburi BlueSky, a subsidiary of Thonburi Group, as its local general distributor.

Right-hand-drive markets are a key focus of Firefly's overseas expansion. The brand announced in November 2025 that mass production of its right-hand-drive model had begun, with the first batch shipped to Singapore.
