Heavy-duty EV charging provider Milence has opened a charging hub in Temse, Belgium, its fifth location in the country. Strategically located between Antwerp and Ghent, the new hub connects two of Belgium’s major port and logistics regions with international transport routes to France and Southern Europe.
The Temse site has eight charging bays, four equipped with hybrid MCS/CCS chargers delivering up to 1,500 kilowatts of charging power, and four served by CCS chargers offering up to 400 kilowatts. During charging sessions, drivers can use facilities including restrooms, showers, coffee, vending machines and outdoor seating.
The Temse charging hub is part of the European MACBETH project, an initiative focused on developing and deploying Megawatt Charging System (MCS) technology for heavy-duty electric trucks. MCS enables electric trucks to charge at higher power levels than CCS, allowing drivers to align charging sessions with mandatory rest breaks.
Through its participation in the MACBETH project, Milence is testing MCS in real-world conditions and sharing findings with industry partners.
“The opening of our fifth charging hub in Belgium marks another step in the development of a reliable European charging network for electric trucks,” said Lars Minekus, Regional Manager for the Nordics, Benelux and UK at Milence. “With Temse, we are not only strengthening an important logistics connection between Antwerp, Ghent and the rest of Europe, but also actively contributing to the further development of megawatt charging.”
