With the SuperPanther eTopas 600 and the Sany e263, the Hugelshofer Group is adding two new electric truck concepts to its fleet. The logistics company is using the new additions as a practical test to precisely analyse range, efficiency, and total costs in heavy-duty transport.
In 2020, the Swiss Hugelshofer Group added the first fully electric truck to its fleet – the first 40-tonne battery-electric articulated lorry in Switzerland at the time. Since then, the company has continuously expanded its e-fleet and, in 2024, opened Switzerland’s largest fast-charging park for e-trucks in Frauenfeld. Now, in mid-October 2026, Hugelshofer Logistik AG has announced further electric additions.
The company is putting e-trucks number 86 and 87 into service: a Superpanther eTopas 600, manufactured at Steyr Automotive’s plant in Austria, and a Sany e263, produced in Changsha, China, which represents the brand’s first model in Switzerland. The goal is a fully electrified vehicle fleet by 2035.
The two new vehicles also serve as test cases. “Over the past years, we have gained extensive experience with electric trucks from various European manufacturers. We have tested new technologies, explored operational limits, and gained numerous insights. Not everything worked perfectly right away. However, these very experiences have driven us forward and significantly shaped our e-mobility strategy. With the two new vehicles from Superpanther and Sany, we are now deliberately expanding our technological horizon,” said Hugelshofer Logistik AG in a German-language statement.
In day-to-day operations, the focus will now be on comparison and analysis, with the company already able to draw on extensive experience in electric heavy-duty transport.
