Dongfeng Nissan, Nissan's joint venture in China, announced on Tuesday that the NX7 is coming soon, laying the final groundwork for the model's official launch.
Dongfeng Nissan released a poster calling the NX7 hybrid SUV "a smart, zero-pressure SUV for young people," but did not reveal a specific launch date.
This is the latest development since the company teased the NX7 and released official images of it in early August. The vehicle will be the fourth model in Nissan's N series and the second SUV after the NX8.
The NX7 is 4,785 mm long, 1,932 mm wide and 1,665 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,815 mm, and it has a 5-seat layout, according to previously released information.
Dongfeng Nissan previously said the model offers outstanding space utilization and comfortable seating in both the front and rear rows, catering to both daily commutes and trips with friends.
The vehicle is equipped with a 40.9-kWh battery from CATL (HKEX: 3750), which is claimed to cover a week of daily driving on a single charge.
Regulatory filings show that the NX7 is a plug-in hybrid with a 1.5-liter engine and a drive motor with peak power of 170 kW (228 hp), as well as all-electric range of 220 or 225 kilometers.
The vehicle has a roof-mounted LiDAR and supports urban NOA (navigate on autopilot), targeting scenarios including stop-and-go traffic, intersections and driving across cities.
Judging by the naming and dimensions, the NX7 sits below the NX8, which is 4,870 mm long with a wheelbase of 2,917 mm and was launched on April 8 this year.
