BYD’s premium brand unveils the Denza Z9S

The premium brand Denza from the Chinese BYD Group has unveiled the Denza Z9S, a fully electric mid-size to full-size sedan that starts at around 34,000 euros in China. Depending on the variant, the range is said to reach up to 1,100 km according to the Chinese test cycle.

In Europe, Denza marked its debut in spring with the Denza Z9GT. This all-electric shooting brake, equipped with high-end features, starts at a sleek €144,500 in Germany. The newly introduced Denza Z9S is not meant to be a successor to the Z9GT but will instead stand alongside it as an independent electric sedan.

The Denza Z9S positions itself as a more compact alternative to the Denza Z9GT. It measures 5.09 metres in length, 1.98 metres in width, and 1.49 metres in height, with a wheelbase of 3.025 metres. The Denza Z9S is available with both single-motor and triple-motor electric drivetrains. The single-motor variant features rear-wheel drive with a maximum power output of 370 kW, while the triple-motor version offers all-wheel drive with a combined system power of up to 890 kW.

Equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, which has a capacity of 102.3 kWh, the Denza Z9S achieves ranges of 780 km CLTC (632 km WLTP), 920 km CLTC (745 km WLTP), and 1,100 km CLTC (891 km WLTP). The high-performance version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.68 seconds.

All variants feature BYD’s innovative Flash-Charging technology , enables the battery to charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes.
