BYD to launch second-gen Seal 07 sedan on November 5

BYD (HKEX: 1211) will launch the second-generation Seal 07 on November 5, refreshing its Ocean lineup with a larger sedan offering battery electric and plug-in hybrid options.

Auto Home reported the launch date on October 30, citing official information from BYD. Zhang Zhuo, general manager of BYD's Ocean lineup sales division, said on Weibo the same day that the first display cars had arrived at showrooms in 131 Chinese cities.

The second-generation Seal 07 EV opened for reservations on October 26 without pricing being announced. Customers who reserve the model can receive priority production and delivery and request a full deposit refund before confirming their orders.

The new model adopts the Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 design language, with styling aligned with the Seal 08. It measures 5,080 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,960 mm.

Compared with the Seal 07 EV launched in March this year, the new model is 85 mm longer and 50 mm wider, with a wheelbase extended by 60 mm to provide more cabin space.

Previous official previews showed that the second-generation Seal 07 EV will feature the second-generation Blade Battery, flash charging technology and the DiSus-M intelligent magnetorheological body control system.

Cabin features include front zero-gravity seats with massage, ventilation and heating functions, along with a 20-speaker Devialet audio system. Display vehicles also feature roof-mounted LiDAR, though driver-assistance specifications for individual variants have yet to be clarified.

Previous regulatory filings with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) showed that the battery electric version offers 2 motor options with peak outputs of 245 kW (329 hp) and 300 kW.
