Alpine has unveiled the A310 Vision, a one-off design study celebrating 55 years of the original A310 sports car. Presented at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, the design study bridges the gap between the sharp wedge design of the 1970s and the brand's new electric performance platform.
In 1971, Alpine introduced a more comfortable four-cylinder model alongside the uncompromising rally hero A110: the A310. The sports car’s razor-sharp wedge shape, its characteristic front, and its V6 engine introduced in 1976 all secured it a permanent place in automotive history. Now, the A310 is celebrating its 55th anniversary, with the V6 also marking its milestone. Alpine is thus taking this opportunity to bring its legendary model forward into the future through the A310 Vision.
The flat silhouette, just 1.18 metres high, transitions at the rear into a 2.03-metre-wide rear end, combining the simple shape of the early four-cylinder models with the wide haunches of the V6 variants. The wheel arches house wheels with a distinctive A-design, a direct homage to the historic rims of the A310.
At the front, pop-up headlights highlight the vehicle’s start-up. S-duct openings in the bonnet and a central bridge ensure optimised airflow. The bridge is echoed by lighting elements at the rear, leading to the split rear wing. Blade-shaped rear lights also contribute to aerodynamics and generate additional downforce.
A glance through the glass dome reveals a sparsely outlined cockpit in intense red. Alpine describes the interior as a living space, with organically shaped seats and physical controls inspired by high-end hi-fi technology.
