Last month, RAW Charging opened a new 'ultra-rapid' EV charging hub on Palmerston Road in central Aberdeen, Scotland. The site features 14 charging bays, including four capable of delivering up to 300 kW power.
The new site, which opened on 5 October, features ten 150 kW bays and four 300 kW bays, with two designated ‘priority’ bays. It was developed in partnership with infrastructure company Hubber and is intended to serve both local drivers and those travelling through the city. Drivers can pay using contactless bank cards or compatible charging apps, with the site offering 24-hour customer support.
RAW describes the installation as Aberdeen’s largest ultra-rapid charging hub to date, stating that it will provide an alternative to slower public chargers – particularly for residents who lack off-street parking. Jason Simpson, CEO, RAW Charging, said: “We’re delighted to bring a major Rapid Hub to Aberdeen, giving drivers across the city access to a genuinely fast option right in the city centre. Fourteen ultra‑rapid bays means drivers can add serious range rather than planning their day around charging. This launch is another important step in our partnership with Hubber, providing fast, reliable and well‑located facilities.”
The new site is part of RAW’s growing UK network, which the company says now includes more than 500 sites. Its recent projects include a 20-bay ultra-rapid hub at Sunderland AFC’s Stadium of Light , which features 16 150 kW chargers and four 300 kW units. Hubber, meanwhile, was founded in 2024 by former members of Tesla’s UK Supercharger team.
