Zyxel Networks has launched the NWA50BE MAX and NWA90BE MAX WiFi 7 access points, aimed at small businesses and home offices.
Both are tri-band, triple-radio devices that support simultaneous 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz operation, with headline speeds of up to 9.3Gbps. The company said they are designed for smaller organisations that want to upgrade their wireless networks without taking on the cost or operational demands often associated with newer standards.
The launch comes as smaller businesses face growing demands on wireless networks from customer devices, point-of-sale terminals and connected equipment. In retail and service settings, those pressures can affect payments, checkouts and surveillance systems when older WiFi infrastructure becomes congested.
Zyxel is positioning the two access points around simpler deployment and remote management. Both support the company's Nebula cloud platform, which includes remote configuration, monitoring and centralised management in its core tier, with higher-level options available for businesses that later expand.
The NWA50BE MAX and NWA90BE MAX also include Smart Mesh MLO, which combines mesh networking with Multi-Link Operation. This allows wireless links between access points across all three bands, aimed at sites where installing new cabling is difficult or uneconomic.
The products differ in some intended use cases. The NWA90BE MAX includes captive portal support for guest access and branded login pages, while both models support IEEE 802.1X and RADIUS to separate access for staff and guests.
Power consumption is another part of Zyxel's pitch. The devices have a maximum power draw of 15W, which the company said is up to 38% lower than comparable tri-band WiFi 7 access points drawing between 21W and 24W.
