The jeweler marked the opening with a Daniel Boulud dinner and a performance by Ashe at its new Blue Box Café.
“I am the lucky one who gets to wear it,” Zoey Deutch said, looking down at the Tiffany & Co. necklace around her neck. “It’s my dream necklace. I am obsessed with it.”
The piece — a HardWear Color necklace in yellow gold with pearls and turquoise — made its first outing Wednesday night at the jeweler’s newly expanded South Coast Plaza boutique, celebrating its grand opening with Deutch, Laura Harrier and Charles Melton among a crowd of VICs, as well as Anton Segerstrom, a partner in the family business behind South Coast Plaza.
“I had never seen it before. I was like, ‘Is this brand new?’ And it is brand new,” Deutch added, pairing the necklace with a Tiffany HardWear Color bracelet set with turquoise.
It was a black-tie affair, with guests arriving through an entrance in the mall, where a deep-blue carpet ran down a hallway lined with screens showcasing global ambassador Natalie Portman’s latest campaign before leading into the store. Inside, a photo call sat to one side while the crowd wandered among jewelry vitrines with Champagne, white Negronis and white cosmos in hand, taking in the diamonds.
For Deutch, whose relationship with Tiffany includes starring in the 2022 film “Something From Tiffany’s,” the evening was another chapter in what she called a “dream come true” relationship with the house.
“I love them so much I made a whole movie about them,” she laughed, adding that working with the brand has deepened her appreciation for its heritage.
