Vornado Hires New Head of Retail Leasing in Manhattan

The huge real estate firm has 2.3 million square feet of street-level retail across 40 Manhattan properties.

RETAIL EVP: Vornado Realty Trust, the largest owner and manager of street retail in Manhattan, has hired Elisa Young to serve as executive vice president, head of retail leasing.

“Young will drive leasing activity throughout Vornado’s 2.3 million square feet of street-level retail across 40 Manhattan properties,” the company said in a statement provided to WWD.

Young takes over the role previously held by Ed Hogan, who earlier this year joined JVP Development.

Vornado’s Manhattan’s retail assets are located on Fifth Avenue, Madison Avenue, Times Square, Penn District, Union Square and SoHo. Vornado is currently advancing several projects, including the ongoing transformation of the Penn District, where it is the predominant real estate owner, developer and operator.

Young most recently served as senior vice president of retail leasing at Brookfield Properties, where she oversaw about 1.2 million square feet of New York retail assets.

She is credited with playing an instrumental role in shaping the retail merchandising and leasing for Brookfield Place, which is in lower Manhattan, and Manhattan West, which is east of Hudson Yards. According to Vornado, she struck numerous retail deals with brands including Gucci, Dior, Bottega Veneta, Zegna, Nike, Sephora, Lululemon, Warby Parker, Arc’teryx, Eataly and Tag Heuer, among others.

“Elisa is an accomplished retail leasing executive with a distinguished track record of attracting world-class brands and shaping premier retail destinations,” said Glen Weiss, executive vice president and co-head of real estate and office leasing at Vornado.
