Vanessa Abreu has been named president of Fleur du Mal, the New York-based luxury lingerie and ready-to-wear brand founded by Jennifer Zuccarini. The appointment is effective Monday.
Most recently, Abreu was senior vice president of Skims, where she led the strategic expansion of the brand’s global physical presence across retail, pop-ups and experiential concepts, brand collaborations, strategic partnerships, franchising and wholesale. Earlier, she held leadership roles at Bottega Veneta, Burberry and Rag & Bone, building her expertise across commercial strategy, merchandising and international business development.
Fleur du Mal hasn’t had a president for the past two years, but has worked with fractional contributors.
As president, Abreu is charged with leading Fleur du Mal’s next phase of growth, with a focus on expanding its retail and wholesale business, accelerating international expansion and continuing the brand’s strong e-commerce trajectory.
“I’m thrilled to join Fleur du Mal at such an exciting moment in the brand’s evolution,” Abreu said. “I look forward to partnering with Jennifer and the talented team to build on the brand’s distinctive identity, deepen its connection with customers and unlock new opportunities for growth.”
“We’ve built Fleur du Mal with a distinct point of view on lingerie, fashion and femininity, and I see tremendous opportunity to bring our world to a broader audience,” said Zuccarini, founder and chief executive officer. “Vanessa brings the experience and vision to help us realize that ambition while staying true to what makes Fleur du Mal special.”
Fleur du Mal, whose business is primarily direct-to-consumer, has five freestanding stores, including Dallas which will open soon.
