Spinny delivered 1,370 cars across 24 Indian cities on the first day of Navratri, its highest single-day total.
That was 1.7 times its previous one-day record and 96% higher than on the first day of Navratri last year.
During the day, one car was handed over every 41 seconds. The busiest hour, from noon to 1pm, accounted for 112 deliveries. Deliveries had slowed during Shradh before demand picked up at the start of the festival period.
Demand was concentrated in a handful of markets. Delhi-NCR, Maharashtra and Karnataka accounted for 62% of total deliveries, while Pune recorded 180 deliveries, the highest tally among individual cities.
The mix of vehicles bought on the day points to continued strength in smaller passenger cars in India's used-car market. Hatchbacks made up 55% of deliveries, ahead of SUVs at 26% and sedans at 14%.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno was the most delivered model, followed by the Hyundai Grand i10, Renault Kwid, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Tata Tiago. The Baleno accounted for about one in 14 deliveries.
Buyers also showed a preference for newer stock and single-owner vehicles. According to Spinny, 77% of cars delivered had one previous owner and 46% were from model year 2021 or later.
Petrol remained dominant, accounting for 82% of cars delivered, while diesel represented 12%. The day's total also included 66 compressed natural gas vehicles and 10 electric vehicles.
Automatic transmissions accounted for one in three deliveries nationally, with Bengaluru above that level at 40%. White was the most popular colour at 28%, followed by grey at 22%, while blue, silver and red each accounted for 12%.
