After Nike elevated its ACG Air Max Goadome boot last year with a first-of-its-kind pony hair construction, the limited-edition style has quietly been restocked at select retailers — but don’t expect it to last too long.
The Nike ACG Air Max Goadome QS Pony Hair is available now from the Beaverton, Ore.-based brand’s e-commerce store and select retailers. Eschewing the model’s typical leather build, the luxe-leaning spin on the brand’s Air Max sneaker boot is covered in tonal black pony hair across the entirety of its upper.
The boot’s elevated status is also signaled through a set of braided rope shoelaces, but the style otherwise maintains all of the Goadome’s signature components including an Air Max-cushioned midsole and rugged outsole tread.
Last year’s pony hair-adorned ACG Air Max Goadome releases suggested that Nike was giving the beloved boot a renewed push, a resurgence which has continued to play out in 2026. A recently introduced revamped low-top version of the boot has been a particular focus, with highlights including an acclaimed Taller De Rafa collaboration, a Foamposite-enhanced variation and a batch of croc-embossed colorways.
The ACG Air Max Goadome was introduced to retail in 2000 to compete for the share of the street-style boot market that had been dominated by Timberland throughout the 1990s. It was quickly embraced by Baltimore and Washington, D.C., cities which have since had a decades-long connection with the boot.
C. and Baltimore were the first cities to truly embrace the [Goadome], so big props to them for having the courage to bring something new to the market,” Carl Blakeslee, the boot’s creator and former Nike ACG designer, said in 2008.
