Newegg adds Google UCP checkout integration

Newegg Commerce Inc. expanded its participation in agentic commerce channels, announcing that it has integrated Google’s Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) for online checkout.

The consumer electronics retailer follows other big names, including Wayfair, Walmart, Macy’s and other merchants, that have supported UCP since Google formally launched it in January. The move means that Newegg-sold products will be purchasable within Google’s AI Mode, Google Search and Gemini experiences.

Newegg is No. 86 in the Top 1000 Database. The market research tool ranks North America’s largest online retailers by their annual ecommerce sales and more.

Newegg is also No. 429 in Digital Commerce 360’s AI Commerce Rankings. That set of rankings is available in the Top 1000 Pro with AI Database.

“AI is changing how the world buys technology, and Newegg intends to be at the forefront of that change,” said Montaque Hou, chief information officer at Newegg. “We moved early to make our catalog shoppable inside AI experiences, and integrating Universal Commerce Protocol powered checkout across Google brings that vision to life in one of the most widely used platforms in the world.”

By integrating UCP, which Google co-developed with retailers and commerce platforms including Etsy, Shopify, Target, Walmart and Wayfair, Newegg remains the merchant of record while providing Google with product catalog data used in AI-powered shopping experiences.

“Wherever someone asks an AI what to buy, we want Newegg ready to answer,” Hou stated.

Use of Google’s UCP follows other AI-related pushes for Newegg over the past year.
