Since its May 2025 debut, New Balance’s popular Abzorb 2010 sneaker has seen a wide variety of looks including collaborations with Chicago designer Joe Freshgoods, Japanese streetwear label Wtaps and New York mainstay Kith, among others. And yet, despite the range of material textures and colors that have been seen on the model, it has yet to receive a major overhaul in its year-plus on the market — until now.
Just in time for the impending arrival of winter, New Balance has quietly upgraded the Abzorb 2010 with Gore-Tex membranes in a pack of three distinctly different colorways. Whether you want to stand out with neon, blend in with earth tones or go full stealth in all-black, the just-released trio has you covered.
The New Balance Abzorb 2010 Gore-Tex is available now in Phantom/Black Cement (style code U20105IS), Light Mushroom/Timberwolf (style code U20105HA) and Field Green/Alkaline Green (style code U20103KC). Despite their differing colorways, each shoe in the set is equipped with the same waterproof Gore-Tex build which sees the Abzorb 2010’s typical open mesh paneling get swapped with a closed material to keep moisture at bay.
Curiously, New Balance’s official e-commerce product page does not make any mention of the group’s Gore-Tex upgrades, but the W. L. -owned brand’s signature logo can be seen on a tag near the heel of the shoes. It’s also worth noting that the addition of Gore-Tex necessitates a price increase from the Abzorb 2010’s typical tag of $145 to $175 for the winterized version.
