Lindt to open 20 exclusive brand stores in India in 2.5 years

Lindt, the renowned Swiss chocolatier, is set to open 20 new stores across India over the next two and a half years. With an investment of approximately Rs 40 crore by the VTC Group for 11 outlets, the first store has already launched in Delhi, boasting over 500 different Lindt chocolate products.

Swiss chocolatier Lindt plans to open close to 20 stores in India over the next two-and-a-half years, with VTC Group set to invest around Rs 40 crore to establish 11 outlets across north and west India, Akshay Verma, managing director, VTC Group, told ETRetail. The group, which has distributed Lindt products across the two regions for five years, opened its first retail store in Delhi last month. The expansion will initially prioritise Delhi-NCR, followed by Chandigarh and Ahmedabad, subject to securing suitable retail locations and assessing store performance. “We are mandated to open close to 20 stores in the country in the next two-and-a-half years. In our territory, north and west, we are scheduled to open 11 stores,” Verma said. Advt

The first store, spread across approximately 1,100 sq ft, stocks over 500 SKUs, including Lindor chocolate balls in 17–18 flavours. The range is expected to expand to 25 Lindor flavours by December, ahead of Christmas. VTC is evaluating two stores in Delhi and one each in Gurugram and Noida, with Chandigarh and Ahmedabad among the next markets under discussion. Each outlet is expected to occupy at least 100 square metres, or around 1,100 sq ft, to accommodate the brand's premium retail experience.
