Asian equity markets retreated across the board on Tuesday as South Korea’s benchmark index tumbled 3.61 per cent ahead of major global technology earnings.
The MSCI Asia ex-Japan index fell 0.93 per cent while Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 dropped 1.28 per cent, reflecting investor hesitation across key regional hardware and semiconductor hubs.
Selling was heaviest in South Korea, where tech heavyweights dragged the KOSPI down sharply during morning trade. Market debutant Elice Group, a South Korean artificial intelligence infrastructure provider, opened 16 per cent below its initial public offering price after raising 201.1 billion won ($151.12 million) in its listing.
European index futures pointed lower as well. Euro Stoxx 50 futures fell 0.71 per cent, DAX futures slipped 0.40 per cent and FTSE futures lost 0.44 per cent, while S&P e-minis held flat at 7,734.25.

Hardware suppliers face an immediate test as results arrive from Tesla, Lam Research and Texas Instruments later in the week, alongside private operator SpaceX.
