Laura Biagiotti Honored With Postage Stamp

The launch ceremony was held on Thursday at the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy in Rome.

HONORING EXCELLENCE: The Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy released a stamp to celebrate the Laura Biagiotti fashion company. The stamp belongs to the thematic series “Excellence of the productive system and Made in Italy” and has a value of 1.30 euros. It will be printed in 180,000 units.

The stamp features Laura Biagiotti’s logo on a cashmere cable-knit pattern, recalling the brand’s signature yarn. The pattern also represents the story of the brand weaved by three generations of women at the helm since its foundation in 1965 by Delia Biagiotti, followed by Laura Biagiotti, and then by her daughter Lavinia Biagiotti Cigna, president of Biagiotti Group.

“A stamp is a small symbol capable of crossing time and space, carrying a story, an identity, a vision far and wide. I wish to thank my grandmother Delia and my mother Laura for passing on to me the passion for this extraordinary craft, along with a sense of duty and responsibility,” said Biagiotti Cigna. Laura Biagiotti died in 2017.

The launch ceremony was held on Thursday in the “Sala della Protomoteca” at the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy in Rome. All guests received a pre-stamped postcard that could be mailed in the evening through a temporary mailbox installed in the Sala.

Among the guests attending the event was Francesca Marino, board member of the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato, or the Italian State Mint; Giovanni Machetti, head of philately at Poste Italiane, and Adolfo Urso, minister for enterprises and Made in Italy.
