The Canadian actress joined the outerwear brand to celebrate Quebec in TriBeCa with maple treats and poutine.
Kanuk brought a bit of Montreal to TriBeCa last night for their cabin-themed party with Canadian actress Sophie Nélisse. The Canadian outerwear brand transformed Square Diner into the “Kanuk Cabin” with maple syrup-scented candles and signature Quebec treats including poutine, maple bacon sliders and maple cocktails.
“I’m a big poutine girl. I’m a poutine girl through and through, and I would say that’s my favorite meal tonight,” Nélisse said. “I mean, I’m from Canada. I want to represent across the borders. I’m proud to be Canadian. So, yeah, I felt like it was on brand for the evening.”
The “Heated Rivalry” star was sporting a full Kanuk Canadian tuxedo to fit the theme of the night. “I’ve been wearing the brand for years. They’re like a Montreal and Canadian staple,” she said. “It’s a brand everyone knows and has always known. I’ve been wearing their clothes before they even came up to propose this partnership, so I was really thrilled.”
In the candlelit diner guests mingled about enjoying the assortment of snacks and dancing between booths.
“I really wanted to bring hints of Quebec to this city, and make people experience what Quebec is all about,” said Kanuk CEO Elisa Dahan. ” “This collaboration with Sophie was from the heart — she actually is a fan of the brand,” Dahan added of her cohost. “The fact that this is genuine and it really comes from a true love, it has so much more meaning than just doing a collaboration for the sake of the noise.
