Dr. Martens is continuing to invest in its owned retail with the reopening of its Herald Square store in New York.
Located at 1333 Broadway, the remodeled 1,200-square-foot shop is the U.K.-based footwear company’s first “Brand Centre” concept store in the U.S. The store features an expansive assortment of the brand’s signature boots, shoes, and sandals, as well as its Made in England range, seasonal collections and a curated offering of bags and leather accessories.
The shop, which first opened in 2017, also offers leather care, shoe repair and customization services, led by in-store experts.
The reopened Herald Square store is the first U.S. location to bring Dr. Martens new visual identity to life. It features a modular fixture system, thoughtful details like boot-shaped door handles, activation “shed” and launch area and much more.
Paul Zadoff, president of Americas for Dr. Martens, said in a statement that “Herald Square is where New York meets the world, so it’s the right place to bring our new visual identity to life.”
“Every part of the store, from the materials and the layout to the craft bar, is designed to turn shopping into an experience,” Zadoff noted. “Explore our icons, discover what’s new, and bring in the boots you’ve worn for years to be cared for, repaired and made your own. We want people to feel the craft and creativity of Dr. Martens the moment they walk in, and to have a reason to keep coming back.”
Dr. Martens’ Herald Square reopening follows a rollout of the company’s new Brand Centres concept in Le Marais in Paris last month and Sendlinger Strasse in Munich this month.
