THE WHAT? Coty has extended its licensing agreement with Marc Jacobs to secure a 40-year partnership, strengthening its prestige fragrance and cosmetics portfolio while supporting the international expansion of Marc Jacobs Beauty.
THE DETAILS The agreement with WHP Global and G-III Apparel Group, which jointly own the Marc Jacobs brand, extends a partnership established in 2003. Coty has developed several successful fragrance franchises, including Daisy, Perfect and Daisy Wild, with Marc Jacobs fragrances ranking among the top 10–15 prestige women’s fragrances across the US, UK, Canada and Australia. Following the relaunch of Marc Jacobs Beauty in 2026, the make-up range has expanded into hundreds of Sephora stores, with retail sales exceeding company targets. The brand now ranks among Sephora’s top 20 make-up brands in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, with plans to expand into additional markets and cosmetics categories.
THE WHY? The agreement strengthens Coty’s long-term position in the prestige cosmetics and fragrance market by securing a strategically important licensing partnership. Expanding Marc Jacobs Beauty beyond fragrance provides opportunities to diversify revenue, increase international retail distribution and capitalise on the commercial potential of established luxury fashion brands entering additional cosmetics categories.
