Stacie Borteck Dattner will report to Bluemercury CEO Alexandre Choueiri, the former Kering Beauté executive who arrived in August.
Stacie Borteck Dattner, a longtime merchant at Bloomingdale’s, is leaving to lead merchandising at another Macy’s Inc. nameplate, Bluemercury.
Dattner starts the job Monday. She will report to Bluemercury CEO Alexandre Choueiri, who arrived at Bluemercury this summer after previously leading Kering Beauté’s Americas division.
The beauty retailer has been a performer for Macy’s Inc., posting its sixth straight year of growth last year. Fiscal 2025 comps there rose 1.6%, and Q2 comps rose over 6%.
While Macy’s Inc.’s namesake banner plods away at its turnaround, Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury provide sources of strength.
Dattner isn’t going far. The ties between the two luxury banners are strong, with Choueiri reporting to Bloomingdale’s CEO Olivier Bron.
Her nearly two decades at Bloomingdale’s included seven years leading the department store’s beauty and fragrance division. During that time she worked to elevate the Bloomingdale’s fragrance assortment and launched a beauty retail concept that included emerging brands and new ways to shop, according to a Bluemercury press release Thursday.
Most recently, Dattner was Bloomingdale’s senior principal of strategic capital planning and brand integration. In that role she worked with senior leadership, merchants and luxury brand partners on capital strategy, major store projects and brand integration initiatives, as well as the retailer’s broader transformation strategy.
Dattner will lead Bluemercury’s merchandising strategy, proprietary brands and vendor marketing, with an eye to “strengthening its distinctive point of view on luxury beauty,” per the release.
